About The Event
'Illumine' is a testament to Woodford's desire to continue to push her creative boundaries. Woodford is a metal sculptor that has taken her signature style to the next level by collaborating with Kent Hertz to brighten up her feminine form metal sculpture with colorful projections- adding movement and whimsy. We will also get a glimpse into her ability to build big! She will be displaying some of her large exterior sculpture that while although, big and bold, it still carries the strong feminine quality that is true to her style.
About the artist:
Based in Shenandoah, Iowa, Susan Woodford spends most her time working with fire and metal. Her vision: She takes strong, unyielding material and transforms it into creations of movement, feminine form and abstract imagery. She is not only an artist and a sculptor, but she is also an educator and a leader. She teaches a variety of metal sculpting classes and has contributed to a number of public projects. She has collaborated with many artists and continues to share her creative talents with others through her latest collaborative space called the Art Farm Studio.
