About The Event
Jonathon Stout, also known as BadJon, is showcasing his signature style of polaroid portraits of inspirational and influential individuals of that are the essence of Charleston. By engaging his ‘makers’, he brings behind-the-scenes to life with a touch of black and white raw reality.
An expert in polaroids and portraits, Stout combined the idea after his successful black and white series at Redux a year prior. Since then he has been building off the idea of the “faces of Charleston”; exploiting the human mosaics of the Holy City.
The magic comes from expired (2014) Fujifilm FP-3000B Polaroid film, a tripod and his fully manual Polaroid 600SE camera. His passion for photography, while using unorthodox equipment, hopes viewers will “slow down and actually think about what we are looking at”.
The showcase will run until September 22, 2018 and all 50 + portraits will be on display.
